Well here it goes again twitter causing all kinds of problems. Just read an article about another beef started on twitter. Now dont get me wrong this isnt an anti twitter blog its just another blog showing what can happen on twitter. Well Joe Budden and his girlfriend Tahiry broke up and hes with a new girl Somaya Reece. Over twitter Somaya made a comment about Fab and immediately Fab responded over Twitter. Now this is starting to spiral out of control, because of course then Joe responded on a video blog as he usually does. Joe told Fab if he has something to say put it in a song. Twitter is a great social outlet and it has gotten so big it is now used as an outlet to air out dirty laundry. Im not sure if Fabolous will respond but hopefully this doesnt get out of control because Joe and Fab used to be good friends. They were in a group called Desert Storm a few years back and were very good friends. I think they will work things out but i dont know joey can get stubborn with rap beef.

Well, from what we've talked about in person or on the blog, it seems that Joe Budden isn't really preoccupied with selling albums (or MP3s in the current world of "new new media"). He's more focused on the underground popularity of his blog or video log. Fabolous, though I feel like he's been gone for months if not longer, just (kind of) released *Losco's Way* in July '09.
ReplyDeleteSo I wonder...
Is Somaya Reece a tool here? Not in the "Tool Academy" sense of the word, but is she actually a tool for Budden and Fab to build up popularity?
Off this blog you and I have talked about Jay-Z and Nas' feud and the huge impact the feud had on Stillmatic's sales. Especially considering Jay-Z's "Takeover" already built up a whirl of controversy on the (original) Blueprint.
I'm not saying (by any stretch) that Joe Budden and Fabolous are a modern equivalent of Jay-Z and Nas. All I'm saying is that we may have seen this act before...
